Whatever your interest or ability, Southern California Hospice Foundation has a way for you to get involved and make a difference.
The Helping Hands Hospice Guild is an all-volunteer group, with a mission to support the work of the Southern California Hospice Foundation (SCHF) through volunteering, community outreach, fundraising, and special projects. Our guild meets regularly & members contribute their time and talent by adopting special projects to support patients during their end-of-life journey.
Past projects have included, “Bags of Love” given to each patient served by SCHF. These bags include: lap blankets, prayer cards, and non-scented lotions, deck of cards, writing prompts, notepads & pens. Also, the guild has also adopted patients for the holidays and helped to make specific dreams come true.
Guild members also play a major role in fundraising for SCHF’s Heavenly Home Project. Hospice Guild volunteers are committed to Southern California Hospice Foundation’s efforts in establishing a loving home that will serve the dying with dignity, love, and respect. The house will be a residential home where the terminally ill patients can end life’s journey in a comfortable home-like setting.

Southern California Hospice Foundation is partnered with the Coastline ROP Business Internship program, our interns will learn the basics in volunteer recruitment, learn how non-profits are funded and what it takes to fund them, basic office skills and implement what they have learned. (From their course work from the ROP program and what we taught them).
Angel Ambassadors are our representatives for patient fulfillment requests, Angel Ambassadors are hosts at patient outings and they deliver patient care-packages/gifts. For a volunteer to become an Angel Ambassador they must go through our process which includes a background check, TB test, and interview. We have these processes in place to ensure the safety of our patients.
Hospice volunteers provide much needed companionship and emotional support to patients at the end-of-life. Before our volunteers interact with our patients they will need to complete our training manual .
