Hospice House

Our 15 Year Journey

Building the Future of Hospice care

We are committed to ensuring that those at the end-of-life live out their final days with dignity, love and respect. With that commitment, the Southern California Hospice Foundation aims to open the first Social Model Hospice House in Orange County that serves as a live-in residential care facility for those at the end-of-life. Currently, such a place does not exist in Orange County.

A Hospice House is a residential home where terminally ill patients can end life’s journey in a comfortable home-like setting. It offers an important option for people who may not have family or friends who can care for them.

In our Hospice House, the services provided will include:

  • Routine personal care such as bathing, dressing, toileting, assisting with eating and medications.
  • Meal preparation, laundry and housekeeping
  • Coordination of care plan with medical hospice
  • Comfort Companions, or volunteers
  • Pet and music therapy
  • Massage treatments
  • Haircuts
  • Meditation garden
  • No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

The basis of the hospice philosophy is for every patient to have a dignified, pain-free death. The absence of a residential home in Orange County poses a significant threat to that standard.

Together, we will make a difference. With your help, an Orange County Hospice House will become a reality.
